Laurent Durieux

LAURENT DURIEUX creates a whimsical world where giant robots coexist with mythical creatures like Bigfoot and King Kong, and airships shaped like Snoopy fill the skies. In his illustrations, movie monsters are depicted as sensitive beings rather than vengeful foes.

Although he has spent two decades as a designer and teacher, the 42-year-old Brussels illustrator gained recognition in the U.S. through high-profile awards and commissions, including a 2013 screenprint of ""Jaws"" that caught the attention of director Steven Spielberg. His rise to fame began in 2011 when he was named one of the world’s 200 Best Illustrators by Lürzer’s Archive.
